For the first time, the Colorado Outdoor Educator Symposium and the Intermountain Student Outdoor Leadership Symposium are being held cooperatively. The combined symposiums will be held at Western Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado in April 2019. The resulting event is called The Student Outdoor Leadership and Education Conference (SOLE) This is a student-organized event that is specifically tailored to students that are involved in the outdoor industry. Between April 5th and 7th, attendants will have the opportunity to hear from keynote speakers that have proven success in our industry, attend student presentations, participate in skills workshops, develop professional experience, build their networks and more. Conference passes will be limited, so be sure to keep an eye out for more information regarding registration. The theme for the 2019 SOLE Conference is Impact with specific focus on Gender & Diversity, Environment, Transference, and the Future. Conversations will be guided by these topics and will be facilitated by students based on their interests and experiences. If students are interested in presenting at SOLE, applications will be on our website and will be available for submission when registration opens. The SOLE conference will be a place for collaboration and discussion as well as community bonding through a climbing competition and opportunities for local skiing. Students will leave with new perspectives, knowledge and deeper understandings. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
